Yes, yes…I mean, Her Royal Highness.

I’m addicted to The Tudors. No, I don’t mean the TV show.

It’s started when I started reading Philippa Gregory’s books. One of them was turned into a movie, if you don’t recall - The Other Bolelyn Girl. I didn’t see the film. I’m not into movie adaptations. I like creating my own movies in my head.

But there you go, it got me into surfing about monarchy and all that. And I read everything in with a thick English accent, I might add.

You can now start calling me Her Royal Highness!

Who are the people in your neighborhood?Bookmark and Share

Alright, so I mentioned some time ago about my sister and her fiance moving to a new community. They’ve started spending weekends in their new nest already to get the hang of the place, get to know their neighbors and generally get familiar with everything around.

Luckily for them, there’s Local.com to help them find everything they’re looking for in their new neighborhood.  They’re big dining out people and they just ran a quick local search on restaurants in New Monmouth, New Jersey and voila! It took them just 2 minutes or even less to find somewhere they can go to! That’s local yellowpages with just a few clicks for you!!

And Then There Was Light!Bookmark and Share

I mentioned a few posts ago about my sister and fiance looking for a house. This somehow led me to doing some changes in my own apartment. I found out how a simple good lighting can work its magic into your pad, making it more homey and cozy.

So what exactly are the changes I made in my apartment? Well, I got this very artistic Forecast light for my living room, George Kovacs for my bathroom and an outdoor Kichler for my front door…all in all a good investment, I must say!

It’s amazing how much difference lighting can make in your home. I love the change. And the best thing about it is that I didn’t have to do any intense remodeling or renovation in my apartment for it to look  this inviting.

The Last FrontierBookmark and Share

I have been dreaming of visiting the 49th state. The experiences Alaska offers is just incomparable. Going on a day trip alone in the state’s waters can give you the best catches you’ll ever have!!!

My cousin had the privilege of going to Alaska last summer and one of the things he can’t stop talking about was his Alaskan king crab meal! He says it was one of the things that made him truly feel he was in Alaska!

The good thing about these Alaskan king crabs is that they are very rich in protein. I guess that gave him all the energy to do as much as he could while he was there, making him able to really experience the beauty of the state.

Trade Show ExhibitBookmark and Share

I am currently knocking on the creative side of my brain for this trade show exhibit I signed my small business up for. I want my booth to be eye-catchy — something that people would definitely notice from a mile!

I am thinking of doing something unique, but I also want to be practical. Everything must be portable and affordable. For this trade show exhibit, I’m looking into having table covers and table top displays customized with my business name and logo. Sounds like a neat idea, huh?

House-huntingBookmark and Share

My sister is thinking of settling down and is looking for a new place outside New York, but still wants the vibe of the NY Metropolitan Area. While she and her husband-to-be were nest-hunting, they found out that Monmouth County in New Jersey is exactly what they are looking for!

They found this oceanfront luxury condo perfect for her and her fiance.  It’s close to everything they need — there are commercial establishments, retail stores for their shopping fix, doctors, lawyers and other professional offices. And when they’re ready to have a family, they won’t have to give up their neighborhood because there are quaint waterfront homes for the family in the area, too! They are indeed really lucky.

Persian Rug Outlet StoreBookmark and Share

I love cats. The only thing I hate about them is the shedding. It drives me crazy. I have to vacuum almost everyday just to keep my books clean. Not to mention the walls and the frames hanging on them. It is like their fur has natural glue that makes them stick to almost any surface, even on cloth! How I wish my household adhesive could do that.

After I vacuum and clean out the filter, the inside looks like a Persian rug outlet store. An entire mat of cat fur accumulated in a couple of hours. What would my nest be like without the modern innovation of vacuums? It is god’s gift to cat lovers and haters alike. If I had to use a broom every time I have to clean up, I would be dead by now. Or I would have Arnold Schwarzenegger’s arms.

This is why Dyson vacuums should be a household staple. Just like any other staple on the table. Like potatoes for some.

Rachel RayBookmark and Share

I remember watching 30-minute meals with Rachel Ray a few years ago. Her set looked more like an art-deco confusion hastily thrown together like the title of the show implies. She wore dike-y outfits with practically zero accessories except maybe for earrings. She would always talk about her lack of formal training and going to school to learn how to cook. It makes me wonder if the complete makeover is indeed complete with a training at http://www.atlantaculinary.com/. Maybe I should go to http://www.atlantaculinary.com/ for a training to stop this sour graping. Am I sour graping? Yes, I am, I am a frustrated chef and doctor among others.

CuddyBookmark and Share

I was sitting through a dvd of the entire second season of House the other day. I was taken aback with the ratio of episodes with mothers having artificial insemination and most of all, learning about Dr. Cuddy trying to get pregnant. She already had three procedures done, the first one did not work, the second one she lost, and if my memory serves me right she is working on the third one. Why would women wait so long to have a baby if they really want one? With what I know, women are genetically vain, they probably thought of their figure before hitting the sack with the intention of bearing an offspring. Well, there are a lot of ways to lose baby weight. You can skip the nanny and be a hands on suburban mom. Take baby in a jogging stroller. Get up really early in the morning and take your jogging stroller for a good hour around the neighborhood. You will be back in time to work on the rest of motherhood for the day.

Settling DownBookmark and Share

Most couples want to get married and settle down so bad, the only thing that is keeping them from doing so is shortage of funds. Not just for the wedding but for a place they can call their own after the occasion. Then there will be the little tots. If you sell structured settlements for a living, they are gifts from heaven to you. People who sell structured settlement, have the lowest rates give clients the ultimate savings. What more could you ask for?
